Participant 2010: Michael D. Padrone

Michael D. Padrone

Michael D. Padrone was born April 29, 1942 and raised in the City of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. He has lived in Philadelphia all his life, where he participated in both Catholic and public school systems. He served his country in the U.S Army at age 19, when he was sent to the great city of Berlin, Germany where he was assigned to “A” company, 2nd Battle Group, 6th Infantry at McNair Barracks from 1961 to 1963. In those two years he was promoted to Specialist 4th class. Upon leaving Berlin, he was assigned to XXI Corps of the U.S Reserves in the State of Pennsylvania for two years and was promoted to Sergeant. He married his childhood sweetheart in 1964. They raised two children, a boy and a girl. As a means of employment he drove a tractor trailer both local and long distances. He now is a 68 year old retired teamster. He and his wife still live in Philadelphia, where they enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren.
